Get to Know Lauren Gimmillaro, Cobalt's New Head of Channel

Having launched and built three Partner Programs for Bay Area startups, Lauren just launched Cobalt's very own at https://cobalt.io/partners.

Welcome, Lauren! Tell us a bit about yourself, and where you're based.

I’m originally from Long Beach, California and moved to the Bay Area to study Earth Systems at Stanford. My true passion is the conservation of the world’s fresh water supplies. I live in the beautiful Marina District of San Francisco, California. Contrary to the average resident, my favorite Marina days are those when the fog is eerily thick and you can hear foghorns rumbling from ships mysteriously hidden in the mist.

Professionally, I’ve had the unique opportunity to launch and build three Partner Programs for Bay Area startups, focused on referral and reseller partners, as well as technology partnerships. I can’t wait for Channel Sales to contribute to a significant portion of Cobalt’s goals!

Can you talk about what you'll be doing here at Cobalt?

I’m heading up our Channel Sales initiatives for our Referral and Reseller Partners. We launched a program where we build strategic relationships with our Partners to ensure their and their clients’ long-term success.

How will partners feel the impact of the work you're doing?

The Cobalt Partner Program offers two partner options — referral and reseller partners — with tiers within each to fit partners' unique wants and needs, and various commitment levels. Program partners are eligible for referral fees, discounts, and several exciting go-to-market benefits. The program also offers opportunities to promote their business, such as custom co-branded documentation, joint marketing campaigns, features in Cobalt’s Partner Newsletter, and more.

What attracted you to the role? What are you most excited about over the next 6-12 months?

The cybersecurity industry is huge and only continuing to grow and evolve. Everyone from security software vendors to compliance consultants recommend or require their clients get a pentest. I’ve had the unique experience to launch and build three channel programs; the opportunity to build out the channel program for the leader in the pentest space, while significantly contributing to Cobalt’s company goals, was an offer that I couldn’t turn down. I’m most excited to onboard and enable new partners and celebrate our joint successes.

What's your ideal superpower?

I would love to be natively fluent in every language in the world. My goal in life is to always have traveled to more countries than years I am old — nothing would be more fulfilling than to truly immerse myself in every local culture.
